Colleagues and friends gather at the memorial tree.
STAFF REPORT
Peggy Behm, a former first and second grade teacher at Crockett Elementary School, was honored with a memorial tree on the Crockett campus on June 4.
After teaching at Crockett for 29 years and retiring in 2005, Behm passed away in the spring of 2009. She also taught briefly at the Wonderland School.
Behm’s former colleagues gathered to share stories and remember the former teacher.
“Peggy was always cheerful and ready to help anyone in need,” said San Marcos CISD Assistant Superintendent and former Crockett principal Dr. Lolly Guerra. “She is missed by all who knew her.”
A memorial stone placed at the base of the tree reads, “Our Special Crockett Super Star.” The tree was planted on Crockett’s bus circle near the activity slab.
