Tanger Outlets make donations to area schools

Photo by Iris Campbell. STAFF REPORT Tanger Outlet Malls recently donated $1,000 to Goodnight Junior High, DeZavala Elementary School, Miller Junior High and San Marcos High School (SMHS). These funds are in addition to $11,425 the schools raised through the TangerBucks fundraising campaign.Through the program, Goodnight raised $3,390, DeZavala raised $545, Miller raised $3,490 and SMHS, through its Diamond Line Dance Team, raised $4,000.Tanger Outlet General Manager Michelle Carswell distributed the checks to each campus during the last week of classes.”We are pleased to provide our partner schools with the additional monetary support they need to help our children be even more successful,” Carswell said.Through the program, participating schools are given all proceeds from sales of Tanger Savings Books and a proportional share of $1 from each Tanger Coupon Book sold at the company’s 33 shopping centers in 22 states.Miller Junior High Principal Susan Brown, dance team sponsor Holly Hess, Assistant Principal Ricardo Soliz, Carswell and the Miller Dancing Diamonds.
