Business student named Texas State regent

William Clayton Patterson, a Texas State University student from Richardson, was named to the Texas State Board of Regents by Gov. Rick Perry today.

Patterson is a junior majoring in international business at Texas State. He is a former U.S. Marine. During his service, he was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

He is president and founder of the Texas State University Veteran’s Alliance, a member of Phi Delta Theta, the Texas State University Student Foundation and Ducks Unlimited and an Eagle Scout.

He replaces Nicole Lozano of Huntsville.
