SMACC to hold employment law workshop

The San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce (SMACC) will hold a Lunch and Learn Workshop on June 3, called “Changes in Employers’ Obligations in Challenging Economic Times.” The workshop, sponsored by Workforce Solutions Capital Area, will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Jeffery Hagleman of Ebe & Associates, an employment law firm, will talk about significant changes in employer obligations that have occurred during the past nine to 12 months, and what actions employers can take right now.

Hagleman graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1998. While he was still a law student, he interned for United States Federal Magistrate Marsha Crone and served as the president of the Environmental Law Society.

Hagleman is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

The workshop will be held at Woody’s Barbecue, located at 2601 Hunter Road, in San Marcos. The cost is $10, if participants RSVP by June 1. Afterward, the cost will be $12.50. Seating is limited. To make reservations, or for more information, contact SMACC at (512) 393-5900.
