Dripping Springs gets ready for farmers market

STAFF REPORT

The Dripping Springs Farmer’s Market will open on June 20, at the Triangle, located at the intersection of U.S. 290 and RR 12.

The market, presented by the City of Dripping Springs Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, will reoccur on the first and third Saturdays of the month until October. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“The market will support local sustainable agriculture and provide opportunities for the consumer to actually meet the growers, and ask question regarding the way the local harvest was produced,” said Dripping Springs Mayor Todd Purcell.

Coordinators are asking all interested vendors to contact the Dripping Springs City Hall and provide their contact information. The city will then send out booth vendor registration information to interested participants.

“It will be a tremendous opportunity for our citizens and area residents to shop local and eat fresh, healthy food,” said Dripping Springs Parks and Recreation Coordinator Ashley Seay.

Call Seay or City Secretary Jo Ann Touchstone at (512) 858-4725 for more information.  Rental forms will be available at City Hall, located at 511 Mercer Street in Dripping Springs, or on the city’s website.
