Marcos Martinez was selected as Texas State’s 2009 Student Employee of the Year for his work in the School of Music’s library.
“With the large number of student employees on this campus, it is fun and exciting to recognize quality student employees like Marcos,” said Texas State Assistant Director of Career Services LaTonya Henry. “I also credit departments, like the Music Library, in developing employees by providing responsibility and challenge in on-campus positions.”
Martinez earned his degree this month in geography, with an emphasis in urban and regional planning.
“Marcos has proven that he is a self-starter whose work can be relied upon for accuracy and care,” said School of Music Librarian Mark Blair, who nominated Martinez for the award. “(He is) consistently reliable and wholly dedicated to his job.”
Career Services recognized all nominees at a reception on April 15, in the LBJ Student Center ballroom. This is the third year student employees have been recognized in this way. Nominations for the 2010 award will open on October 15.Email | Print
