Pedernales Electric honored late Hays County Sheriff Allen Bridges with a board resolution April 29 at the Hill Country Senior Citizens Center in Dripping Springs.
Bridges started at the Hays County Sheriff’s Office in 1997 and was appointed sheriff in September 2005, winning a full term in November shortly before his death. Bridges initiated crime prevention programs, a junior deputy academy, a citizens academy for adults and programs for seniors and neighborhood watch groups.
“Sheriff Allen Bridges’ tireless efforts to protect the community inspired PEC’s Rural Crime Watch program,” assistant general manager Jeanell Davis said. “His leadership in our communities was extraordinary and we are privileged to honor his memory in this personal way.”
