Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) honored the late Hays County Sheriff Allen Bridges with a personal resolution by its board on April 29.
“Sheriff Allen Bridges’ tireless efforts to protect the community inspired PEC’s Rural Crime Watch program,” said PEC Assistant General Manager Jeanell Davis. “This program aids local law enforcement, and helps keep our neighborhoods safe.”
Continued Davis, “His leadership in our communities was extraordinary, and we are privileged to honor his memory in this personal way. These programs continue to benefit PEC members in the Hays County community.”
Among Bridges’ many efforts cited by PEC in its resolution are the junior deputy academy, a citizen’s academy for adults and programs for seniors and neighborhood watch groups.
Bridges died on Dec. 6 at age 62 after suddenly collapsing in his Dripping Springs home. Bridges had just won re-election as Hays County Sheriff a month earlier.Email | Print
