A local artists’ cooperative, F8TL Art Studios, is holding its inaugural art show on April 25 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
F8TL Art Studios is located in Suite 105 at 829 North LBJ Street in the Chestnut Plaza in a group of buildings that includes the Thai Thai Restaurant. The dozen artists of the cooperative will be display 25 to 45 pieces of art for sale. Refreshments will be served.
The F8TL cooperative started small, with just photographers, but now has twelve members and is growing. Artists now include the original photographers and new illustrators and painters. Pen and ink drawings and paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor will be exhibited and sold.
Kevin Walsh, an original member of the cooperative, said that this art show is what art is all about.
“Art is a social experience and needs to be brought to the public.” Walsh said. “Our studio’s mission is to bring art to our community.”
Walsh promised that the art show on Saturday “is just the first of many ‘happenings’ that the cooperative will host and sponsor. “
Walsh noted that the studio is already planning workshops in figure drawing and in alternative photography, for example.
“All members of our community are welcome to the art show,” Walsh said. “Join us and experience our art with us.”Email | Print
