Texas State’s Aquarena Center will welcome 20 law enforcement public safety divers for a three-day Dive Rescue 1 workshop on April 24.
Training will take place at Aquarena Center by Dive Rescue International of Fort Collins, CO. Jim Andrews, police chief of University Place, WA, will lead the training.
Dive rescue teams from Corpus Christi, Richmond, Flower Mound, Commerce and Travis County, TX, will attend the three-day workshop. The divers will work together to develop skills on evidence recovery, underwater search patterns and scene management.
Texas State’s Department of Criminal Justice put on several successful dive workshops in the past. The current workshop brings that training back. Dive rescue 1 will be taught three times this summer, with dive teams from across the state participating.
