The Texas State theater department will present the children’s play “Foxtails,” from April 28 to May 3.
The play, written by Charles Pascoe and directed by Tracy Goodwin, follows the adventures of Sonny Fox, who wants to find out about the rest of the world, and meets several other animals along the way who teach him lessons about friendship and working together.
Each encounter has a moral, and the moral is presented in songs that draw from the fox fables of Aesop.
The play has earned wide praise, and was featured in the International Children’s Festival, held at Wolftrap in Fairfax, VA. Texas State students performed it on a twelve-show tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia in 1995.
The play also won first place in the 2003 Festival of Anglophone Theatrical Societies, in Brussels, Belgium.
The show will run from April 28 to May 2, on the main stage of the Theater Center, at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance will be on May 3, at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 for all seats.
