Community Action gets grants from Komen

The Austin branch of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure has awarded two grants to Community Action Inc. of Hays, Caldwell and Blanco Counties.

One grant, for $127,937, will be used for breast cancer outreach and early detection, while the other $18,326, will go towards a transportation project that will assist clients in receiving early care.

“We are delighted to have the support from the Austin affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” said Community Action Executive Director Carole Belver. “Their generosity enables us to help women to obtain early diagnosis and treatment that is so critical for the successful treatment of breast cancer.”
