The Texas State softball team received votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate poll announced Tuesday by the Amateur Softball Association. The Bobcats are 29-14 with a 16-5 Southland Conference record.
The Bobcats came off a 3-1 week, during which they beat Baylor on the road and won two of three against Texas-San Antonio (UTSA).
Polls are released every Tuesday, by ASA. Florida was a unanimous No. 1, earning all the first-place votes. Top 10 remained the same with No. 2 Stanford (35-4) holding its spot after going 1-2 this past weekend against now No. 14 California (28-12). UCLA (29-8) moved up four spots this week to No.3, breaking the Top 5 top five.
No. 23 Iowa (33-9) made its way into the Top 25 with a 4-0 week, outscoring opponents 25-2. Texas A&M (26-15) and Fresno State (26-17) fell out, received votes.
The Bobcats hit the road this weekend when they travel to Northwestern State to play the Demons. Game time for Saturday’s game double header is set for 1 p.m. The two teams will play at noon on Sunday.
