Texas State will hold its All Spring Musical Review from April 21-25, on the main stage of the Theater Center, at 7:30 p.m.
The review, called “The World Goes ‘Round” will feature nearly 32 songs and stage performances from the compositions of John Kander and Fred Ebb. Students will also perform classics from the famous musicals “Chicago,” “Cabaret,” “New York, New York” and many more.
“What’s exciting about the show is the quality of the music, “said Greg White, director of musical theater. “It’s entertaining, but its got a tremendous amount of depth.”
Continued White, “Musical theater is the most collaborative art form that exists. It’s also one of the most popular to audiences. I think it’s important to note that these aren’t just theater, dance and music students, but they’re Texas State students.”
The event will celebrate Texas State’s recent effort to consolidate resources and department collaboration for the bachelors of fine arts in musical theater degree, and will showcase student talent in dance, music, acting, production and other skills.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, and $7 for students. The public is invited to attend. An additional show is scheduled for April 26, at 2 p.m. For more information contact the Texas State box office at (512) 245-2204.Email | Print
