The American Widow Project, co-founded by San Marcos resident Taryn Davis, will be featured on ABC World News with Charles Gibson at 5:30 p.m. tonight.
After losing her husband, Cpl. Michael Davis of San Marcos, in Iraq she and other war widows started the project, which visits military towns to offer support to the growing number of women who lost husbands in Iraq or Afghanistan.
“I really believe if we can lessen the pain and lessen the grief that just one widow can go through, then we are accomplishing our mission,” Davis told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff.
