Texas State sophomore third baseman Jenna Emery earned her first Southland Conference Softball Hitter of the Week accolade this season, announced today by the league office.
Emery is the second straight Bobcat to earn the hitter of the week honor. Junior first baseman Leah Boatright received the award last week. Texas State currently sits in first place in the SLC with a record of 14-4 (.778).
Emery helped lead Texas State to a weekly record of 4-2, batting .438 and slugging .812, moving the Bobcats back up to the top of the Southland leader board.
Emery hit her first home run of the season during the weekend against Central Arkansas in the second game of the Saturday double header. Emery went two-for-two with three RBI in he game.
Emery now has eight doubles and 30 total bases in league play to lead the conference in both categories.Email | Print
