The Texas State women’s golf team will look to add more hardware to its successful 2008-09 campaign when it travels to Saint George, UT, to compete in the Brigham Young Dixie Classic.
The two-day event will begin Tuesday morning at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club at 8:30 a.m. and conclude Wednesday afternoon.
“We are very excited to play in Brigham Young’s event,” said head coach Mike Akers. “There are some very good teams in the field and we hope to continue our strong play.”
Texas State will complete a 15-team field that includes tournament host Brigham Young, Florida, Washington, Denver, San Diego State, Wyoming, Colorado State, New Mexico State, Idaho State, North Texas, Northern Arizona, Utah Valley, Southern Utah and Weber State.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and begin the final 18 holes Tuesday morning with 8:30 a.m. shotgun starts.
“We will have to adjust to the altitude and pull the correct clubs,” added Akers. “The practice round will be critical in our preparation.”Email | Print
