Judge Karen Bonicoro swore in the newest class of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) on March 13.
These volunteers will be assigned to children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect, and have been placed in the court system.
As advocates, these volunteers will speak up for the interests of the children they are assigned to, and advocate for them in court. The volunteers also spend time with the children, getting to know their issues and lives.
Anyone interested in becoming a court appointed advocate can contact CASA’s training coordinator, Debbie Haynes, at (512) 392-3578, or visit CASA’s website.Email | Print
