Local home builder gets green certification

Kenneth Ehlers of KER Homes was designated a Certified Green Professional by the National Association of Home Builders’ University of Housing. He was sponsored by the San Marcos Home Builders Association.

Ehlers completed three day of course work tailored to information on green building and business practices. The curriculum incorporates training by leading building industry practitioners and academics on a range of topics including strategies for incorporating green-building principals into homes using cost-effective methods of construction and how green homes provide buyers with lower maintenance and better air quality.

Program graduates are required to maintain their designation by completing 12 hours of continuing education every three years.
