The seventh Annual Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) Museum of San Marcos Golf Tournament will be held on June 13 at the Quail Creek County Club. This will be the first year Quail Creek has held the tournament.
Proceeds from sponsorship and entry fees benefit the non-profit museum dedicated to the life of the 36th U.S. President, a Texas State alumnus. Johnson graduated from then Southwest Texas State Teacher’s College in 1930. Last year’s tournament raised more than $5,000 for the museum.
The celebrity guest for the tournament will be Meghan Danahey, daybreak and midday meteorologist for KVUE. Dahaney will serve as a guest putter for each team on the eighteenth green.
Sponsorships are available at three levels – $1,000 for gold, $500 for silver and $150 for bronze. Individual golfer fees will cost $80 each, including green fees, golf carts and lunch. Prizes and raffle items are still needed for the tournament, as well. Organizers suggest either merchandise or gift certificates.
On-site registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. on June 13, with golfers facing an 8:30 a.m. “shotgun start.” Tournament play will be the four-person Florida scramble format and prizes will be given for the longest drive and for being closest to the pin. The deadline for entry is June 8.
