Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) will celebrate its $35 million expansion with a “Topping Out” ceremony on March 12 from 12-1 p.m.
“Topping Out” was brought to America by immigrants who became contractors and steelworkers. It is a celebration of the placement of the topmost piece of a structure. Work still remains on the expansion, but the ceremony will represent the successful attainment of the structure’s highest point.
The 64,000-square-foot expansion project, which is slated to open by December, will include a new Childbirth Center, a Level II Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU), a new cardiac telemetry inpatient nursing unit, and an expansion and renovation of the facility’s surgical suites. Upon completion, CTMC will grow to a 139-bed facility with all private rooms.CTMC is located at 1301 Wonder World Drive in San Marcos.Email | Print
