Pct. 3 Commissioner Will Conley will serve a second term as chair of the Capital Area Regional Transportation Planning Organization after being re-appointed by his colleagues from Central Texas counties.
CARTPO, which helps prioritize transportation funding for Hays, Caldwell, Travis, Williamson, Llano, Burnet and four other counties, is an off-shoot of the Capital Area Council of Governments whose board appoints the planning organization’s members. Conley was first appointed to the position in May 2007.
“I’m impressed with Will’s knowledge of county affairs, particularly as it relates to transportation issues. He does an outstanding job,” Llano County Judge Wayne Brascom, the CARTPO vice chair, said in a written statement.
The Capital Area Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CARTPO) is a forum of elected officials to come together on transportation issues performing the following duties: Recommending changes in policy and practice, Advocating for legislation, Recommending regional priorities, Directing certain planning and data initiatives, Overseeing the federally-prescribed local consultation process, and collaborating with the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO).Email | Print
