The city of San Marcos has renewed a contract with San Marcos-based Sac-N-Pac Stores Inc. to supply fuel for the city’s fleet of 376 gasoline and diesel vehicles and machines.
Estimated to total about $664,000, the contract requires the city to pay the current market wholesale rate as determined by the Oil Price Information Service plus taxes, freight and a profit margin that amounts to a little more than 5 cents per gallon. The annual contract took effect Feb. 15.
Sac-N-Pac was awarded the contract over Austin-based Texas Fleet Fuel and Magnolia-based WTG Fuels Inc. Founded here in 1966, Sac-N-Pac has 17 locations in San Marcos and dozens more in Buda, Kyle and other Central Texas cities.
The city has 263 gasoline and 112 diesel vehicles and pieces of equipment.
