J.C. Penney will celebrate the grand opening of its new store at Stone Creek Crossing on March 6. at 8:45 a.m. with a ribbon cutting. The company closed its former store in the Springtown Shopping Center on Feb 21.
In honor of the event, Penney’s will donate $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Central Texas (BGCSCT). The contribution will help provide after-school programs that foster academic, physical and social development. Furthermore, the company will provide the organization with five $50 gift cards to help underprivileged students buy school clothes. The donations will be presented during the ceremony. The company also maintains the J.C. Penney Afterschool Fund, which seeks to provide access to life-enriching afterschool programs.
“J.C. Penney has been a supporter of Boys and Girls Clubs after-school programs for many years and we are delighted that we were chosen to receive such a generous gift,” said Daphne M. McDole, spokesperson for the BGCSCT. “J.C. Penney is a company that recognizes how important it is to make sure every child has an opportunity to be great!”
The Boys and Girls Clubs mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially from disadvantaged backgrounds. The BGCSCT office is located at 400 Uhland Road, San Marcos TX, 78666. The new J.C. Penney store is located at 800 Barnes Drive in the Stone Creek Crossing shopping center. The store covers 104,000 square feet and employs 110 associates. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 6 will also see eight additional J.C. Penney store openings across the country.Email | Print
