San Marcos High School cadets to tour air base

Air Force Junior Reserve Office Training Corps (JROTC) cadets at San Marcos High School (SMHS) will have a special chance to experience the wild blue yonder as they take a trip to MacDill Air Force Base in Florida from March 12-17. MacDill AFB supports joint military operations that utilize all branches of the military.

Forth-year cadets Rebecca Pompa, Katlin Davis, Gilbert Espinoza, Brandi Sanchez, Kelly Carrizales, Ernesto Hurtado, Byron Aldana and Soraya Lopez will tour the base as part of a “Curriculum-in-Actions” trip. Accompanying them will be MSgt. J.J. Miller and Mrs. Germaine Miller.

Lt. Col. Larry Letcher said the trip is for members of the senior cadet leadership. In addition to MacDill AFB cadets will also visit the Museum of Scinece and Industry in Tampa and the Florida Aquarium.
