A San Marcos woman is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly causing minor injuries to her husband while chasing him around their house with a kitchen knife.
Gloria Marie Quintero, 39, became angry because she thought her husband was cheating on her and pursued him around their 408 Broadway St home with the weapon, said San Marcos police Sgt. Fred Wisener. Quintero’s daughter, who witnessed the attack, grabbed a block of knives from the counter and ran from the house to keep them from her mother and called her grandfather, who called police, Wisener said.
Quintero’s husband was uncooperative with police officers and declined to give a statement but police officers, based on the daughter’s statement, arrested Quintero and charged her with the second-degree felony, punishable by two to 20 years in prison.
The husband showed signs of being roughed up, including blood on the side of his shaved head and an abrasion, but told investigators he ran into a “cooking pot,” Wisener said. He declined medical treatment.
