KPD seeks person related to taxi death

STAFF REPORT

The Kyle Police Department (KPD) is seeking a man believed to have been with Chung Hsun (Jeffery) Weng when he either fell or jumped from a moving taxi onto Interstat-35. KPD officers describe the man they’re seeking as possibly Hispanic, 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a light build.

Weng, a student at the University of Texas, was last believed to be with the person in question in the vicinity of the 1300 block of Lavaca in Austin at 3 a.m. on Feb. 14. The Hispanic man was then seen leaving the cab in San Marcos around 4 a.m. the same morning.

KPD, along with the Austin Police Department (APD), have released a composite drawing of the person in question. Anyone with any information regarding this person, or this case, can contact KPD Detective Jacob Luria at (512) 268-0859.
