Texas State professor Dr. Jamie Chahin delivered a lecture on Jan. 15 to at the University of Chile’s international seminar in Santiago.
Chahin, the Dean of the College of Applied Arts, addressed the current state and future of public universities in the United States. He also spoke at the Catholic University of Valpariso and participated in a roundtable discussion on innovation at Technological University of Chile.
Chahin’s 30 years of work includes producing a PBS documentary called “The Forgotten Americans,” which focuses on neighborhoods on the U.S. Mexico border, and the establishment of the Center for Migrant Education at Texas State. He also helped create the Rockefeller Brothers Fund’s national fellowship for aspiring teachers of color program.
