Scoring all of their runs in the last three innings, the San Marcos Rattlers opened their softball season with a 5-4 win against Bryan Tuesday night.
San Marcos pitcher Dawn Villegas gave up three runs in the second inning and one run in the third. The game had the look of a mess for San Marcos, which committed three fielding errors.
After the third inning, though, San Marcos tightened its game.
Then the Rattlers began a comeback. After they scored a run in the fifth, the Rattlers scored three in the sixth, two of those coming on a double by Meagan Villegas. Another in the seventh cliched the win for San Marcos.
Katie Nichols went two-for-four with a double for the Rattlers.
The Rattlers are 1-0 now, while Bryan is 0-1.
