New speed limits okayed for Texas 123

STAFF REPORT

The speed limit will be lowered on one stretch of Texas 123 and raised on another as per the recommendation of a Texas Department of Transportation traffic analysis prompted by the opening of the new Bowie Elementary at the highway’s intersection with Monterrey Oaks Blvd.

The city council on Tuesday approved ordinances implementing new speed limits which include:

The speed limits will take effect when posted.

How is it that Martindale can drop the speed limit halfway to Luling (and ticket the hell out people) when the only thing out there are pastures but they want to stick with a 60 & 55 mph limit around these schools. I say drop it to 45 mph all the way in.
