Tanger Factory Outlet Centers has donated $30,000 to the American Lung Association, the Colorectal Cancer Coalition and the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
The donation was made possible by shoppers using the Tanger Cure Card made especially for the fundraising drive. The card, which was redeemable at Tanger centers nationwide, was issued from March to December 2008. The gift was split evenly between the three beneficiaries, with each receiving $10,000.
“We targeted our Cure Card donations toward these diseases because they are responsible for the deaths of nearly 250,000 Americans each year,” said Tanger President and CEO Steven Tanger. “It is our hope that the funds raised through the Tanger Cure Card can support the research needed to find cures.”
Tanger’s next drive will benefit Breast Cancer Awareness. That campaign will take place from Sept. 21-Oct. 20.
Tanger operated the Tanger Outlet Center with more than 100 brand name and designer outlet stores along the east side of Interstate-35 on the south end of San Marcos.
