The City of San Marcos Public Services Department will begin work on a segment of Bert Brown Street on Tuesday.
The portion to be worked on stretched from Travis Elementary School to the San Marcos Treatment Center.
The project, part of the annual street maintenance program, should take two to three weeks to complete. The crews will mill the old asphalt, shape the street and repave it with asphalt.
The project is part of minor reconstruction of about eight lane miles of streets this fiscal year. The department maintains more than 290 total lane miles in San Marcos.
