Pets of the Week @ the animal shelter

Germaine is very friendly shepherd-lab mix who loves to shake hands. He was found as a stray and seems to have been someone’s family pet. He’s a little bit shy in the shelter environment, but if you take the time to get to know him, he is very sweet and loving and great with older children. Germaine weighs about 50 pounds and has a medium-short coat that will need brushing about once per week.

Forest is a handsome gray and white domestic shorthair cat.  He’s about two years old and very friendly. He likes to be held and enjoys having his ears scratched. See how handsome he is? If you were a cat, who would you rather look like?

We help those who cannot afford to fix their pets. PALS, Mutt Strutt and the city of San Marcos will sponsor Spay Days in February and March. Call (512) 754-PALS for information. For every pet that is spayed or neutered, there are fewer that end up homeless!

  1. This type of publicity for pets at the shelter can go a long way toward saving the lives of abandoned pets. Is there a more prominent media (that fits in the city’s budget) to expose abandoned pets to the public?
