Charles Austin Drive will be closed from Hopkins Street to the railroad tracks from Friday, Feb. 13, at 3 p.m. until Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6 a.m. for stadium lighting installation.
Construction crews will use a 250-ton crane to install the 100 stadium lights that will serve the new Texas State baseball/softball complex.
Motorists can access City Park, the National Guard Armory and Strahan Coliseum by taking Hopkins Street to C.M. Allen Parkway to University Drive to the north side of Charles Austin Drive (on the other side of the railroad tracks).
An alternate route is from Hopkins Street to Thorpe Lane to Aquarena Springs/ University Drive to Charles Austin Drive to reach the park and facilities.
