SMCISD paints town … red?

San Marcos CISD staff and students traded in their normal “purple” for wearing of “red” on National Wear Red for Women Day on Feb. 6. The wearing of red by many students and staff was a simple yet powerful way to raise awareness for both women and men of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the elimination of heart disease and stroke. Registration for the Hays County Heart Walk 2009 has begun, along with fundraising for the March 28 event at Bobcat Stadium.

Below are three photographs of the red day. The top two are of students and staff at DeZavala Elementary School, and the bottom one is the school district’s central office staff.
