Fire evacuates two Hays CISD schools


KYLE – Fire broke our at Academy High School in the Hays CISD Wednesday, causing the evacuations of that school and Hays High School.

School officials said a roofer started the fire, which is contained and has nearly been extinguished.

A fire, which was started by a roofer at Academy High School, is contained and nearly extinguished.

Hays High School students were to return to class this afternoon. During the evacuation, a Hays High School student fell down and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene.

Academy students will eat lunch at Hays High School after the Hays High lunch period has ended.

No injuries were reported and the damage is minor.
