A water main broke Monday afternoon on Hopkins Street and C.M. Allen Parkway while construction crews were on the scene, shooting water about 50 feet in the air. Texas Department of Transportation personnel on the scene declined to discuss the cause of break.
The water began shooting at about 3 p.m. As of about 4:45 p.m., the main had not been patched. Traffic moving west on Hopkins was diverted at Riverside Drive. Traffic moving east on Hopkins was directed to turn south onto C.M. Allen Parkway. Traffic going south on C.M. Allen Parkway was allowed to turn right onto Hopkins.
