Audio: Recordings shed light on LBJ, MLK rapport

EDITOR’s NOTE: The Hays County commissioners court is scheduled to consider tomorrow transfering to the municipal government a small plot of land at the intersection of Lyndon B. Johnson Drive and Martin Luther King Drive in downtown San Marcos. A citizens group wants to work through the city to build a monument to the two Civil Rights era leaders. LBJ, of course, has deep ties to the city’s identity as Texas State University’s most famous alumni. In anticipation of that decision, we thought readers might appreciate this American Public Media discussion, originally aired last year, on the relationship between Johnson and King including snippets of their telephone conversations.
