The San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) has announced the promotions of two veteran officers.
Sgt. Christopher Tureaud received his sergeant’s badge this week, right has he begins his 20th year on the force. Tureaud joined the SMPD in 1989, working as a patrol officer and later as a bicycle officer assigned to the Outlet Mall/Downtown division. Tureaud earned his promotion through a competitive civil service examination.
Kye Kennedy has been promoted to corporal. Kennedy joined the SMPD in 2001 and was recently appointed to the San Marcos/Hays County SWAT Team. Kennedy also received his promotion through a competitive civil service examination.
