A woman suspected of robbing the IBC bank in Kyle last week is behind bars in San Antonio, News8Austin reports. Laurie Lynette Wolfe, 53, is accused of knocking off five Central Texas banks in recent weeks, including heists in New Braunfels and Cedar Park. . . . Comal County officials are among those advocating legislation that would allow governments to ignore Public Information Act requests from people they demonstrate are using them to harass elected officials. “There are people that use the law to harass public entities simply because they know they can get away with it,” Comal County Judge Danny Scheel told the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung. . . . With the eve of the legislative session, the Austin American-Statesman returns to concerns about the state’s childrens’ access to Medicaid. A lawyer who represented Medicaid recipients in a 2007 class action suit against Health and Human Services Executive Commissioner Albert Hawkins maintains the state is not complying with a judge’s order to spend $150 million “toward strategic initiatives to improve … access to services.”
