San Marcos High School honors winners of 2008 Reflections in Art contest

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education. Each year, the San Marcos High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) sponsors the Reflections art contest at the local high school.The SMHS-PTSA is proud to announce the winners of the 2008 Reflections in Art contest:

* Photography: 1st-Jayme Lucas, 2nd-Joey Villarreal, 3rd-Lauren Masters
* Visual Arts: 1st-Brad Tanksley, 2nd-Brooke Taber, 3rd – Andres Cruz.

These students’ work will advance to the next level of the Reflections contest, and all Reflections entries are on view at the SMHS library. They were honored in a reception held on December 5, 2008.
