The new pedestrian bridge over the San Marcos River opened officially on Dec. 1 as city officials and community members cut the ribbon. The 52-ton, 195 foot long bridge links San Marcos Plaza to City Park and to new sidewalks along Hopkins Street. The bridge has opened in time for the huge crowds expected for Sights & Sounds of Christmas.
