Understanding that many of their fans won’t be going all the way to Montana to watch the Texas State Bobcats open the NCAA football playoffs, the university’s athletic department has arranged to televise the game locally.
The Bobcats will kick off at 1 p.m. against perennial championship subdivision (FCS) power Montana from the latter’s home field in Missoula, MT. The game will be televised locally on Time-Warner channel 77.
Time-Warner subscribers in the Killeen, Temple and Waco area can watch the game on Channel 15. Fans in San Antonio can watch the game on Channel 50. Time Warner Cable’s Metro Sports will air the game to fans in Dallas on Channel 185.
“Many people told us how tough it was to travel to Montana on such short notice during the holiday weekend so I felt it was important to bring the Bobcats back to our loyal fans,” Texas State Athletic Director Larry Teis said. “I want to thank the NCAA, the University of Montana, and all our sponsors who made this possible. We are very excited that we will be able to reach over 700,000 households in Texas with our television broadcasts.”
The sponsors include Texas State Athletics, Texas State University Marketing, Time Warner Cable, Brown Distributing, H-E-B, Pizza Hut and Sac-N-Pac Corporation.
“We have a lot of young men’s families from Texas State who will not be able to make the trip to Missoula,” said head coach Brad Wright. “So, it is great that we are able to bring the game to our players’ families and future Bobcats.”
As always, KTSW-FM (88.9), the university radio station, will broadcast the game. That broadcast also is available at www.txstatebobcats.com or www.ktsw.net. The game also can be viewed online with the Big Sky Conference feed on www.bigskytv.org.
Grande Communications is still attempting to make the broadcast available for its customers.Email | Print
