Pets of the Week @ the Animal Shelter – 11/18/08

Dog:  Sid – Chocolate Lab mix – 50767
Sid would be a perfect family dog.  He lived indoors with a family with small children and cats for most of his 6 years but his family had to give him up due to an unexpected military deployment.  He is already neutered and housetrained.  He has good leash manners and knows a few basic commands.  He has a short, low maintenance coat that will need to be brushed only about once per week.  He is calm indoors and active when outdoors.  He gets along with most other dogs.  He weighs about 65-70 lbs.

Cat: Antoinette – Domestic Medium Hair – Tabby & white – 51697
Antoinette is sweet cat but she doesn’t like a lot of commotion around her.  She shys away from strangers and tries to hide when it gets too noisy.  She would do best in a fairly quiet home or at least one where she had a place to retreat to when she needs to get away.  When things are quiet she will chase a string or bat at a toy with kitten-like playfulness.  She likes to be petted but would prefer to sit beside you rather than be held.  She has a very unusual tabby-patterned moustache and her coat is silky soft.  She is estimated to be 1-2 years old.
