San Marcos police arrested a 35-year old suspect in the robbery of a woman at an ATM machine in late October.
Samuel Vidal Harris, 35, of San Marcos was arrested yesterday after San Marcos police released photos and a video of the suspect. He was identified through the surveillance video from a convenience store.
Harris is charged with aggravated robbery, a first degree felony, and credit card abuse, a state jail felony.
According to Commander Terry Nichols, Harris threatened a woman with a tire iron and robbed her of her purse as she attempted to make an ATM transaction at 4:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Springtown Way. The suspect then used the victim’s credit card at a local convenience store which was captured by surveillance video.
“We are glad to have this suspect in custody and off of the street,” said Nichols. “This is the third aggravated robbery case in the past month that has been solved. We appreciate the community’s assistance in solving these violent crimes.”
Harris is jailed at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center. Bond had not yet been set as of Friday morning.Email | Print
