San Marcos Police are requesting assistance from the public in identifying a suspect who robbed a victim at an ATM machine during the early morning hours of October 27.
The suspect approached the female victim at approximately 4:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Springtown Way as she attempted to make an ATM transaction.
The suspect threatened the victim with a tire iron and fled with her purse, said Police Commander Terry Nichols. The suspect then used the victim’s credit card at a local convenience store which was captured by surveillance video.
The suspect is described as a black male, 30-40 years old, wearing a white tee-shirt, blue and white checkered shorts and white shoes. He was last seen driving a late 1990’s extended cab Chevrolet truck, possibly two-tone dark color.
The case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division of the San Marcos Police Department. Anyone with information concerning this robbery is encouraged to call Detective Dan Royston at 512-753-2303 or Crime Stoppers at 512-353-TIPS.
