SAN MARCOS, TX – Central Texas Medical Center’s volunteer auxiliary is hosting an upcoming book fair to support unfunded needs of the hospital.
On Friday, Nov. 14, Books Are Fun will be selling books, toys, CD’s and other items in the main classroom on the first floor at CTMC. The auxiliary recently hosted its first jewelry fundraiser which raised approximately $1,200 for the hospital. Wirewood Jewelry sold various pieces of handmade, natural stone jewelry and demonstrated several jewelry-making techniques.
“Our fundraisers enable us to do more for our patients and community,” said Gary Jepson, President and CEO. “It’s the little things like blanket warmers that we can’t budget for but still desperately want to provide.”
The gift shop at CTMC is another way the hospital’s auxiliary raises extra funds for unmet needs. Items can be purchased for patients and delivered to their rooms by a volunteer. Delivery is free of charge and will occur within hours of placing the order. Popular items include flowers, balloons and stuffed animals.
