Sweeping through two matches last week, the Texas State volleyball team finds itself in a three-way tie for the Southland Conference lead with more roadwork to come.
The Bobcats pulled out a very tight three-set win on Oct. 15 at Central Arkansas (25-23, 25-22, 25-19), then returned to Strahan Coliseum on Oct. 18 for another three-set win against Northwestern State (25-18, 25-18, 25-22).
The victories pushed Texas State up to 13-12 overall and 6-1 in the league, where the Bobcats are tied with Lamar and Stephen F. Austin. The Bobcats next go to Thibodeaux, LA, to play Nicholls State on Oct. 24, then play Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, LA, on Oct. 25.
Lawrencia Brown won Southland Conference defensive player of the week for Texas State, notching her fifth double-double this season against Central Arkansas (15 kills and 15 digs), then registering 25 digs against Northwestern State.Email | Print
