Buda man held in convenience store robbery

STAFF REPORT

A man who deputies say robbed a Buda convenience store is in jail today after being arrested Saturday in Corpus Christi.

Mark Anthony Calderon, 32, of Buda is charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, for the Sept. 19 heist at the Speedy Stop convenience store, 4003 Overpass Road. No one was injured in the robbery.

After a tip led authorities to Calderon and investigation resulted in a warrant for his arrest being issued, U.S marshals and Neches County officers served him in Corpus Christi.

He was transported on Tuesday to the Hays County jail where he is being held on a $100,000 bond set by Justice of the Peace Joanne Prado.
