Prime Outlets – San Marcos Presents Gifts During Annual Local Heroes Appreciation Event
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – September 22, 2008 – In conjunction with their business partners, Prime Outlets – San Marcos proudly presented the San Marcos Police Department with two segways during the regional shopping destination’s annual Local Heroes Appreciation Event, the September shopping event where police, military, fire and emergency personnel are
offered exclusive shopping discounts and special offers.
“The City of San Marcos and our Police Department are delighted with this donation,” said Mayor Susan Narvaiz. “The segways offer a wonderful new way for our officers to boost their patrol efforts and their outreach to citizens and visitors alike.”
“This year we wanted to do something special for our local police department,” said Celena McGuill, marketing manager, Prime Outlets – San Marcos. “Many police departments across the country use segways as a means to patrol neighborhoods and various properties. We hope our police department finds this duo of donated vehicles advantageous in their efforts patrolling Prime Outlets – San Marcos’ grounds along with the surrounding community.”
Prime Outlets – San Marcos originally made a commitment to donate one segway to the police department earlier this year. But, when the shopping center’s business partners learned of the gift, they joined right in!
“We were able to collect enough funds to purchase a second segway,” said Prime Outlets – San Marcos General Manager Tom Jenkins. “We are very appreciative of their efforts and thank each of our partners for their help and generosity.”
The following businesses contributed a total of $5,500 for the purchase of a second segway for the San Marcos Police Department: AlliedBarton Security Services, AMI Air Conditioning, Atlas Painting, JD & Associates, KenTex Roofing Company, Landscapes USA, Matera, San Antonio Segway, ServePro, Southwest Plumbing, Tammy Lovelady and West Hill Paving.
